  • Wates, a building firm who is building a new school sports hall has very kindly provided us with assistance by building us a new greenpower shed at the school. The teams at Chipping Sodbury School are hoping that they will be able to put a wind tunnel in it to test the greenpower cars and their air resistance quality.Click here to learn all about the building, and see how it is progressing.

  • The rotary racer team made and showed a presentation to the Rotary club. Click on the above link to see the presentation and to learn more about greenpower and Rotary Racers involvement in the club.

  • Rotary Club Presentation On Rotary Racer

  • The team competed in the Corporate Challenge on April the 25th. The team managed to get 3rd place, behind Zebedee and Simple Trug. Throughout the race there were constant battles between Brian and Rotary Racer, but in the final laps we came out on top.

  • Rotary Racer managed to complete 127.2 miles at Goodwood on the 20th June. The car raced so well, the team managed to recieve a platinum milage award as well as winning the race.

  • Rotary Racer was unlucky on the 27th of April (western regional heat) as the car managed to roll over on practise laps. Thank-fully the driver is fine, and he wasnt hurt at all. The rollbar held steady and apart from the rubbing off of the insulation foam on the top edges and a buckled wheel the car was mostly untouched. The team have decided to replace the rollbar as it has been used. They are also going to re-do the sides of the car and use smaller sized wheels to reduce the posibility of the car rolling over.

  • Rotary Racer shows at Rolls Royce Family open day.

  • The new wheels are built.

  • The new foam sides take shape and the new, even stronger, roll-bar is fitted.

  • 18th September: Rotary Racer shows at Air Bus Family open day.

  • 19th September: Rotary Racer go to Merryfield. We manage to come 2nd behind our fellow school team - R-PODS.

  • 26th September: The team go to dunsfold where we come 2nd again by 4 seconds. We manage to completely DEMOLISH our batteries, but this is OK as we wont be using them again.

  • Rotary Racer is given sponsorship from Schwalbe. Thank-you!

  • 11th October: Last greenpower session before the final. The team go through strategies for the final, chossing drivers and what they are going to do with their batteries.

  • Rotary Racer takes 3rd place in the national final (even though the throttle broke and had to be fixed!)! Well done to everyone.
